By using meapica.es you accept the following terms.

1. Identification

Meapica is a personalized children's book creation platform operated from Spain by Xavier Huix Trenco, tax ID (NIF) 41649433K, with registered address at Carrer Aribau 140, 5º, 08036 Barcelona (Spain). Contact: hola@meapica.es, phone +34 606 404 251.

2. Service

Meapica offers the creation of personalized children's stories with unique illustrations, printed on demand.

3. Intellectual property

Illustrations are created specifically for each book. The buyer receives a personal, non-commercial use license for the purchased book.

4. Prices and payments

All prices are final, VAT included, and shown in euros. For printed books, shipping within Spain is included in the price. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.

5. Shipping and returns

Books are printed on demand in Europe, and for now we only ship to addresses in Spain. Mainland Spain: 7-10 business days. Balearic Islands: 7-10 business days. We don't ship to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla yet. As personalized products, books are excluded from the right of withdrawal (Art. 103(c) of the Spanish consolidated consumer protection law, TRLGDCU) and cannot be returned. If a book arrives with any printing or manufacturing defect, or is damaged in transit, write to us within 30 days of receiving it, with a photo of the book and the packaging, and we will send you a new one free of charge. This does not limit your statutory warranty rights.

6. Limitation of liability

Meapica does not guarantee uninterrupted service availability. Illustrations may vary and a specific result is not guaranteed.

7. Gift vouchers

A gift voucher entitles the holder to one personalised story in the format chosen at purchase (hardcover, softcover or PDF), with shipping to mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands included for printed formats. It is paid at purchase, with the book's VAT included. It never expires, can be redeemed once by typing its code when paying for the story on meapica.es, and cannot be exchanged for cash or used for another format; extras (for example an additional copy) are paid separately. Because you buy it online, you have 14 calendar days from purchase to withdraw without giving a reason, as long as it has not been redeemed: write to hola@meapica.es and we refund you through the same payment method within 14 days. Once redeemed, the book is made to measure and is excluded from the right of withdrawal (art. 103 c of the Spanish consumer law, LGDCU). Keep the code safe: anyone who has it can redeem it. If you lose it, we resend it to the email used for the purchase.

8. Referral programme "€10 and €10"

Every paid story order includes a personal referral code, printed on the last page of the book and shown in the order emails and in "My orders". Whoever uses it to buy a printed book (hardcover or softcover) gets €10 off; it does not apply to the PDF and cannot be combined with other codes. When that order is paid, and if it is that family's first order, we send the referrer a single-use €10 code for their next printed book, valid for 12 months. There is no reward for one's own orders (same email, same account or same paying customer). Each personal code can be used up to 20 times. Discounts cannot be exchanged for cash. We may end the programme by announcing it on this page; reward codes already sent remain valid until their date.

Privacy Policy

At Meapica, the privacy of our users — especially when it comes to children's data — is our top priority.

1. Data controller

The data controller for personal data collected through meapica.es is Xavier Huix Trenco (Meapica), tax ID 41649433K, address Carrer Aribau 140, 5º, 08036 Barcelona (Spain). For any privacy question, write to hola@meapica.es.

2. Data we collect

We collect the data needed to create your personalised book: the child's name, age, city, interests and physical features for the illustrations and, only if you choose to upload one, a photo of the child (see section 8). We also collect your email and shipping address to process orders.

3. Purpose of processing

We use your data only to: create the personalised story and its illustrated character, process payment and shipping, and contact you about your order. We never sell data to third parties.

4. Legal basis

Creating, previewing and printing your book, managing your account, payment and shipping: performance of the contract you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The child's photo: explicit consent of the child's parent or legal guardian (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 7 of Spain's LOPDGDD), which you can withdraw at any time. Newsletter and waitlist: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw whenever you like. Keeping invoices and accounting records: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Service security and abuse prevention (for example, usage limits): legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Knowing which channel brought you to us when you create a book (the campaign or referring website of that visit, with no cookies or device identifiers), to measure which channels work through aggregate statistics: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); it is deleted with the book. Measuring our ads with Meta and TikTok and site and usage statistics with Google Analytics and PostHog (advertising and analytics cookies, and purchase event): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw from "Cookie settings". Email reminders about your preview (3 at most, over 3 days, only if you tick the box when asking for the preview): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 21.1 LSSI), which you can withdraw by unsubscribing from any of those emails. We keep the date, the language and the version of the text you accepted as proof of consent. One review request by email a few days after you receive your order: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Art. 21.2 LSSI); we don't send it if you ticked that you don't want offers at checkout, and you can unsubscribe from that same email. If you publish your review, we show your rating, your text and the name you choose on the website, with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw by writing to us.

5. Processors and international transfers

To provide the service we work with providers that process data only on our instructions: OpenAI Ireland Ltd. (generating the story text and illustrations and, if you upload one, the character from the photo), Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (web hosting), Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (payments), Gelato (printing and shipping), Resend (order emails and the reminders you asked for), Cloudflare, Inc. (Turnstile, anti-bot verification at sign-in and when starting as a guest) and, only if you accept advertising and analytics cookies, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., TikTok Technology Limited (measuring our ads) Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics, visit and purchase statistics) and PostHog, Inc. (site-usage statistics and anonymous session recordings, hosted in the EU). OpenAI does not use the data we send it to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. When a provider or its sub-processors process data outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States), the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to hola@meapica.es. We will reply within one month at the latest. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).

7. Children's data protection

We do not collect data directly from children. The child's data is provided by the parent or legal guardian who creates the book.

8. Photos of children

Uploading a photo is optional: you can also create the character by choosing their features. If you upload one, we use it only to create the child's illustrated character (their portrait and character sheet), and only with the consent of the child's parent or legal guardian. Before storing it we remove all its metadata, including GPS location, and keep it in private storage that only our server can access. The photo is sent to OpenAI to draw the character; OpenAI does not use it to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. We delete the photo as soon as the character is created, and in any case within 24 hours. The book (preview and final version) is illustrated only from the drawn character, never from the photo. We do not use it for facial recognition or for any other purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to hola@meapica.es and we will delete it immediately. We keep a record of your consent (date, version of the accepted text and language) as proof that you gave it.

Cookie Policy

Meapica uses technical cookies the service needs to work and, only if you accept them, advertising cookies from Meta and TikTok and analytics cookies from Google Analytics and PostHog.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when visiting a website.

2. Cookies we use

Technical (always on): keeping you signed in, remembering your language, handling the purchase and storing your cookie choice (meapica_consent, 12 months). Analytics (only with your consent): Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_*, up to 14 months) measures in aggregate how many people visit the site, where they come from and how many end up buying; PostHog (ph_*_posthog, 12 months) measures how the site is used (book creator steps, clicks) and records anonymous browsing sessions without the story's text or images or anything you type. Advertising (only with your consent): the Meta Pixel (_fbp and _fbc, 90 days) measures which Instagram and Facebook ads lead to a purchase and helps show them to people who may be interested; the TikTok pixel (_ttp, ttclid and _tt_enable_cookie, up to 13 months) does the same for TikTok ads; meapica_utm (30 days) remembers which ad or post brought you here so it can be linked to your order. If you arrive through another family's referral link, a technical cookie (meapica_ref, 30 days) keeps their code to apply your discount at checkout.

3. Third-party cookies

Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., only if you accept advertising cookies: receives browsing data and, if you buy, the order amount and your hashed email and phone number to measure our ads. Meta may process data in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. TikTok Technology Limited (Ireland), only with the same consent: receives the same data to measure our TikTok ads and may process it outside the EEA under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics), only if you accept analytics cookies: receives browsing data and, if you buy, the order amount and format (never your name, email or phone) to compile statistics; it may process data in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. PostHog, Inc. (EU servers, Frankfurt), only if you accept analytics cookies: receives browsing and site-usage data and anonymous session recordings in which the child's name, the dedication, the story, its images and everything you type are hidden. Stripe (payment processor) may set its own cookies during payment.

4. Cookie management

You can accept, reject or configure by purpose (analytics and advertising) the non-essential cookies in the notice shown on your first visit and change your mind at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. If you reject them, the site works just the same. You can also delete them from your browser.

How is my book created?

You type their name and age, choose how they look, and pick their world and the three chapters of the adventure. We write a story for their age and paint it in watercolour, with their portrait in every scene. No other child will have the same book.

How long does shipping take?

Each book is printed on demand in Europe as soon as you order. For now we only ship within Spain. Mainland Spain: 7-10 business days. Balearic Islands: 7-10 business days. We don't ship to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla yet. You'll receive an email with the tracking number once your parcel is on its way.

Can I customize the character?

Yes! You choose their name and age, skin, hair and eye colour, hairstyle, glasses or freckles, and whether the story is written in the feminine, masculine or neutral. Before you pay you see their portrait and, if you like, change it and we repaint the book.

What paper do you use?

We print on 170 g coated silk paper, which renders the illustrations in vivid colour with a soft touch. The binding is glued, like a premium photo album, and the cover is matt-laminated. Choose softcover or hardcover, the sturdiest option.

Can I request changes after purchase?

Each book is a unique edition, so it can't be changed once ordered. That's why, before you pay, you see the cover with their name, their portrait and the first illustrated scenes of their story, and you can change the title, the dedication and their look.

What size is the book?

The book measures 20×20 cm (8×8 inches), the ideal format for little hands. It has 30 pages with 12 illustrated scenes, a cover, a personalized dedication and a back cover.

Shipping cost

Standard shipping is included in the book price, which already includes VAT. No hidden costs or surprises in the box.

Protective packaging

Your book travels in cardboard packaging designed to get it to you in perfect condition, ready to give. If it still arrives damaged, write to us and we'll send you a new one free of charge.

Order tracking

Once the book leaves the printer, you'll receive an email with the tracking number. You can also check your order status from your user dashboard at meapica.es.
